Peter King BA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA

Peter is the practice Principal and architectural consultant. He was born in Kenya and educated there, in the USA and in the UK. His architectural training began at the University of Manchester and continued at the University of Glasgow, Mackintosh School of Architecture. Peter began practice as a qualified architect in 1982 and worked in both large and small practices before forming Carden King in 2001. His experience ranges from large commercial and healthcare projects to small industrial and residential projects. He specialises in the alteration and extension of Historic property and is passionate about vernacular, organic and sustainable architecture.

 

Sarah Ewbank BSc Dip LA

Sarah is the regular Landscape Design consultant to the Practice. She started her landscape training at the University of Bath and continued it at Birmingham Polytechnic. She worked for and later became an Associate Partner at the practice Colvin and Moggridge, where she worked on both large and small public and private landscaping projects, including undertaking landscape assessments for large civil engineering projects. She started her own practice in 1998. Sarah has a prolific knowledge of plant species and characteristics. She specialises in projects where low maintenance is a priority, and has a passion for the use of water in landscape and garden design. She has a gritty and practical sense of what works in the real world, but is also able to use traditional materials in innovative ways.

 

David Carden Esq.

David is the regular Interior Design consultant to the Practice. He was born in Manchester and studied at the Thameside College of Art and Design. Thereafter he went into practice on his own and has accrued a considerable body of work and experience since. David's interior design can be thoughtful and mature or challenging according to the client and their brief. He listens carefully to the client and interprets their wishes and requirements into an interior that may yet yield considerable surprise, but always delights. David has a very well developed sense of colour, light, texture and form which manifests itself in mature and harmonious interrelationships of these elements in his work.
